Cleaning and Maintenance Guide

Cleaning

To clean your piece, all you need is a clean cloth and some water.

  1. Wipe the piece with a cotton cloth slightly dampened with water.

  2. Dry with a soft, dry cloth.

  3. If a deeper clean is required, we recommend using the D10 Durga cleaner (included or available for separate purchase), following the dilution instructions. Dampen the cloth with the solution and clean the piece. Then return to step 1.

IMPORTANT!

Do not use abrasive products such as soap, scrubbing pads, steel wool, etc.;

Do not use furniture polish, oils other than those specified, chlorine-based products, alcohol, disinfectants, or paint removers. Using these products will void the product’s warranty.

Avoid leaving wet objects (such as glasses, cups, pitchers) or hot items (pots, plates) directly on the surface for extended periods. Some substances, such as wine and sauces, may stain the wood. If stains occur, refer to the following maintenance section.

Avoid exposing the furniture to direct sunlight, as it may reduce the durability of the finish and alter the color and texture of the piece. Parts exposed to the elements require special products and more frequent maintenance.

Avoid placing the wood in direct contact with surfaces that do not allow it to breathe, such as glass or plastic. For pieces used with a glass top, it is important to use silicone pads (4 mm thick) to create a breathable gap between the surfaces.

Maintenance for Scratches or Wear

For pieces finished with oil, use Bombay Oil by Durga Natural Products. This oil restores the protective patina created during the original finish, maintaining water resistance and high vapor permeability. Bombay Oil should be applied every 2 to 3 years on pre-treated pieces.

Surface Preparation:

Clean the surface as indicated in the cleaning instructions.

Apply a small amount of Bombay Oil on a cotton cloth and rub directly onto the surface. Then wipe off immediately with a clean cloth, removing any excess or greasy residue.

Restoring the Color and Vibrancy of Wood

For wax-treated products and to revive the wood’s natural color, we recommend using Durga Wax Paste No. 7, which is included in the maintenance kit or available separately.

This product deeply nourishes and protects the wood fibers, restoring shine and ensuring long-lasting maintenance for furniture and woodwork. It is also excellent for finishing metal surfaces.

Clean the surface as described in the cleaning procedure.

Apply the wax using a cotton cloth or applicator, spreading a thin, even layer of paste. After about 5 minutes, buff the surface with a dry cloth until the “wet” sensation disappears to the touch.

Due to the high hardness of carnauba wax, it is important to apply very thin layers to achieve the best result. Wait approximately 30 to 60 minutes, then polish with a cotton cloth.
